What Mom's Directory is
Mom's Directory is a curated directory of recommendations for moms in Cape Town — from healthcare providers and activities to venues and mom-run businesses. Listings are compiled in good faith, based on personal research and recommendations from local moms.
What we are not
Mom's Directory is an information resource, not a professional advisory service. In particular:
- We do not provide medical advice. Listings in our Health & Wellbeing and Help & Emergency categories are there to help you find practitioners and services — they are not medical recommendations, diagnoses, or guarantees of care. Always use your own judgement when choosing a healthcare provider, and contact emergency services directly in an emergency situation.
- A listing is not a professional endorsement. It means the business was researched and/or recommended by moms in our community. We cannot guarantee any business's service, safety, pricing, availability, qualifications, or outcomes. We do not verify professional registrations, qualifications, licences or insurance.
- We are not a party to your dealings with listed businesses. Any booking, purchase, or engagement you enter into with a listed business is between you and that business. Please do your own checks — especially for services involving your children — and resolve any disputes directly with the business concerned.
This website is intended for use by adults.
Accuracy of information
We work hard to keep listings accurate and up to date, but details change — prices, addresses, hours, staff, and services. We can't guarantee that every detail is current or error-free.
This applies with particular force to our Emergency pages. Numbers, operating hours and facilities change without notice. Please confirm any number before you need it, and in an emergency contact the emergency services directly rather than relying on this website.
If you spot something outdated or incorrect, please let us know at themomsdirectory@gmail.com and we'll fix it as soon as we can.
Badges and featured placements
MOM-VOUCHED indicates that real moms in the community have personally used and vouched for a listing. It reflects a genuine recommendation, not a certification, inspection, or guarantee. The badge cannot be purchased, and paying for a featured placement has no bearing on whether a listing carries it.
Featured indicates a paid placement. A business has paid a fee for priority position in its section and/or on the home page. Featured status does not change how a listing is written or whether it qualifies for any other badge.
Fellow mom biz indicates that the business has told us it is mom-owned. We take that at face value and do not independently verify it.
Submissions from the community
If you send us a recommendation, correction, photograph or any other material:
- You confirm that it is your own genuine experience or your own material, and that you are entitled to share it with us.
- You give us permission to publish, edit, shorten and reuse it on this website, in our newsletter and on our social media, with or without your name.
- Your submission is not treated as confidential.
We may decline to publish anything, and we may edit or remove anything we have published, at our discretion. We do not publish allegations about businesses or individuals, and we do not publish material naming individual staff members or children.
Recommendations published on this website are the personal views and experiences of the people who sent them. They are not statements of fact by Mom's Directory and they are not verified.
Accounts and favourites
You can create a free account by signing in with Google. An account lets you save listings as private favourites and see them on the devices you sign in on. Accounts are optional and intended for adults. You can browse the directory without one.
Sign-in is available through Google only. If Google sign-in or our account service is unavailable, you may not be able to sign in or access your favourites. We aim to keep the service available and your favourites saved, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or permanent storage. The account service may be changed or withdrawn.
Saving a listing does not reserve a place, make a booking or guarantee that a business will remain listed. If a listing is removed or hidden, it may stop appearing in your favourites. It may reappear if the listing returns to the directory.
- Keep one account per person, use your own Google account and keep access to it secure.
- Do not impersonate anyone, access another person's account or interfere with the service.
- Do not use accounts to break the law, automate abuse or bypass security or request limits.
We may restrict access to or delete accounts used in breach of these terms. Creating an account gives you no ownership of, or right to edit, a directory listing.
Account details and saved favourites are private. They are not submissions for publication under the community submissions section above and are not shared with listed businesses. Their collection, use and retention are explained in our Privacy Policy.
You can remove favourites individually or permanently delete your account from Your account. Account deletion requires a Google sign-in confirmation and removes your account, sign-in sessions and favourites from the live database. It cannot be undone and does not delete your Google account. Restricted backup copies remain until they rotate out, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
Corrections, complaints and removals
If you believe anything on this website is inaccurate, unfair or unlawful — whether you are a business owner, a listed practitioner or a reader — email themomsdirectory@gmail.com setting out what the content is and why. We will respond as promptly as we reasonably can, and we may remove or suspend the content while we look into it. Removing content in these circumstances is not an admission that it was wrong.
Business owners may request that a listing be corrected, updated or removed at any time. No reason need be given.
For businesses
Standard listings are compiled by us and are free. Inclusion is at our discretion, and we may edit listing descriptions for clarity, accuracy, and tone. Business names and factual details are published on the basis of publicly available information and community recommendations. We only use logos and photographs supplied by the business or used with permission.
Featured listings are paid. Listing is by application and we may decline any application, or later remove a listing, at our discretion.

A featured listing goes live within 72 hours of each payment being received. By paying, you ask us to publish or continue the listing for the period that payment covers, and you accept that once it is live for that period your right to cancel it under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act no longer applies. Fees are not refundable once the listing is live for the period paid for, and part-periods are not refunded.
Featured listings purchased from 1 September 2026 run for the quarter or the year paid for. We will invoice you before each renewal. There is no lock-in and no notice period — if you do not wish to continue, simply do not pay the next invoice. If payment has not been received within 7 business days of the invoice date, the listing reverts to a free standard listing: it stays on the site, but without the Featured badge, the photo gallery or priority position. It can be restored at any time on payment.
Founding listings purchased at the R150 launch price are once-off. They are not invoiced again, and none of the renewal terms above apply to them.
Changes to your listing details are free at any time. Email themomsdirectory@gmail.com.
Where we have announced a founding or promotional price, later price increases are not applied retrospectively to businesses who applied while that price was open.
By applying, you confirm that you are entitled to supply the logos, photographs and text you send us, and that you hold any professional registrations you rely on in your listing.
If you are a registered health practitioner, please satisfy yourself that a paid placement is consistent with the rules of your professional council before applying.
Intellectual property
The content of this website — including listing descriptions, the Mom's Directory name and logo, and the MOM-VOUCHED badge — belongs to Mom's Directory and may not be copied or reused for commercial purposes without permission. Business names, logos, and photos remain the property of their respective owners.
Search engines and AI assistants may crawl, index, quote and cite this website with attribution and a link. What is not permitted is copying the directory in bulk, or reproducing substantial parts of it, to build or supply a competing product or dataset.
External links
Listings may link to third-party websites, social media pages, and booking platforms. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of external sites.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, Mom's Directory and its owner will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this website or your engagement with any listed business. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
General
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date above updated.
