Mom's Directory
FAQs
Last updated: 20 August 2026
- Is it free to use?
- Completely. Mom's Directory is free for moms, always — no sign-up, no paywall, no account needed.
- Who decides what goes on the list?
- I do. I'm Brittany, a Cape Town mom of three, and I research and write every listing myself, drawing on recommendations from local moms. Businesses can't pay their way onto the directory.
- What does the MOM-VOUCHED badge mean?
- It means real moms in the community have personally used that business and vouched for it. It's earned on recommendation only, and it can never be bought — which is exactly what makes it worth having.
- Some listings say “Featured” — what does that mean?
- Those businesses have paid a once-off fee for better placement. It buys position and detail, nothing more. It doesn't change how I describe them, and it can't buy a Mom-Vouched badge. Featured listings are always marked so you can tell them apart.
- How do I get my business listed?
- Mom's Directory is curated, so it's an application rather than a sign-up. It takes about five minutes and I read every single one. I'll come back to you within a week either way — and standard listings are free.
- Something's wrong with a listing — can I tell you?
- Please do. Outdated hours, a wrong number, a business that's closed, or one that deserves a Mom-Vouched badge — email themomsdirectory@gmail.com or DM @momsdirectory and I'll sort it.
