Rose Cottage Independent Pre-School

They are a small independent preschool in Bergvliet, founded in 2015, running four classes from age three through to Grade R. The curriculum is written to include children learning English as a second language, children with sensory processing difficulties and children with specific barriers to learning, and there is an occupational therapist on site. Every child is screened at the start of the year and again in the third term, with the findings discussed at parent-teacher meetings.

The whole class does fine-motor and gross-motor groups, known to the children as Finger Work and Body Work. Private occupational therapy sessions are available on site but no child is obliged to take them. Karate, Playball, Clayplay and dance run as extra-murals, some during the school morning and some after class, and there is aftercare and holiday care.
